Set Auto-Brightness to On
- Go to the 'Wallpapers & Brightness' section in Settings
- Go to a dark room and set the brightness all the way down.
- Turn Auto-Brightness On, then Off, then On again. This will recalibrate it.
Your phone should do a good job of adjusting the brightness so that it isn't unnecessarily bright when it doesn't need to be. The screen is one of the most power intensive aspects of your phone.
Turn on Reduce Motion
Ok, this will take away some of the pretty animations in iOS 7, but you can always turn it back off if you want the animations. Go to the 'General - Accessibility' section of Settings and turn Reduce Motion to 'On'Turn Off Auto App Update
In
the 'iTunes & App Store' section in Settings, set turn off the
Updates option. You will have to update your apps manually but you can
still update them all at once from the app store updates section. This
will help especially if you have a lot of apps because they will be
updating maybe everyday even if you're on cellular if you have that
setting on too.

Turn Off AirDrop
When
you're not using AirDrop, it's best to keep it off. Just swipe up to
bring up the Control Center and click on AirDrop and click 'Off'.

Turn Off Automatic Time-Zones
In
the 'General - Date & Time' section of settings, turn off the 'Set
Automatically' setting. This just means that when you change timezones
you will have to go in here and set the new timezone manually.
