It was revealed that the Israeli Jets
hitting the Palestinian territory Gaza Strip has received their fuel
from Turkey. The ruling AKP which is widely known to be an Islamist
party and condemns Israeli military operations in the region was
indirectly feeding Israel with the fuel sent from Turkey.
The fuel which was transferred to Israel by tankers via the Iskenderun and Mersin international ports.
The most poignant tanker is the Malta-flagged
“MARINER A” which belongs to a Greek maritime company, the Angora
Investment Trust INC. The tanker has conducted a total of seven
transportation operations between the Dörtyol – Haifa – Mersin axis.
According to the vessel tracking system, the
25,364 gross ton vessel left the Israeli port Haifa on the 3 June 2014
and arrived to the Port of İskenderun/Dörtyol on the 4 June.
The loaded tanker left the Turkish port on
the 13 June in the night of the same day at 02:03. The tanker arrived to
the port of Haifa in the same day at 22:41 and delivered the fuel.
These transportation operations were conducted non-stop for seven days.
An unnamed retired captain who served in oil
tankers for many years said in his statement to Aydınlık that the
tankers carrying crude oil are bigger than one hundred-thousand gross
tons. The MARINER A was reported as a chemical tanker carrying gas and
oil.
The captain also said the following regarding the MARINER A vessel:
“The features of this vessel do not indicate
that it carries crude oil, gasoline or diesel fuel. The jet fuel is what
we call kerosene. The vessel in question has got this said feature.”
Another official from the international
Mersin Port said that the tanker was anchored in the ATAŞ port and
conducting kerosene transportation.
