Add This 2015 Year In Review

As 2015 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment and look back at some of the top online trends from the year. With data processed from 1 trillion global pageviews and more than 2 billion Internet users (yup, that’s “trillion” with a “t” and “billion” with a “b”), AddThis has some awesome insights into online behavior from the past 12 months.

So, what were some of the biggest online trends we looked at from 2015?
  • How global desktop usage stacks up against mobile
  • Countries more likely to use Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or LinkedIn
  • How the world shared popular news online like the birth of Princess Charlotte
  • How content engagement varies by device, and much more
Surprisingly, when it comes to global sharing behaviors by device, we found that 62% of shares happen on desktop compared to 38% on mobile. That said, mobile shares have grown 32% globally since 2014!
