from over 50 years of the James Bond series. From Honey Ryder in Dr. No
through to Sévérine in Skyfall, learn about all the iconic Bond girls in
one place.
A Bond girl is a love interest or flirtation of Bonds, of which there
have been
75 so far.
Honey Ryder
dazzled cinema audiences, stepping out of the Caribbean sea wearing a
white bikini with a large hunting knife at her side. She proved to be
immensely popular with fans and set the tone for all Bond girls to come.
Sylvia Trench
introduced herself in the opening scene of Dr. No as "Trench. Sylvia
Trench", which Bond then mimicked with his now trademark "Bond. James
Bond". Trench was Bond's girlfriend for the first two films, with a
running joke that Bond was called away on a mission just as things were
heating up.
Miss Taro
was a spy working for the villainous Dr. No. She got herself a job at
government house in Kingston, Jamaica, so that she could steal secret
files detailing Dr. No and Crab Key Island.
She invited Bond to her house for dinner, where she laid a trap for his
assassination. However, Bond smelled something was fishy and got his
men to arrest Miss Taro so he could lay a trap for the assassin.
Tatiana Romanova worked for the Soviet Embassy in Istanbul, and was coerced
by the deadly Rosa Klebb into a
mission to seduce James Bond and (unknowingly) lead him to his death. She
helped Bond steal a Lektor decoding machine, and the pair escaped on the Orient
Express train. After a failed assassination attempt by henchman Red Grant, Klebb tried to personally kill
Bond, but Tatiana's loyalty to Bond won out.
Head of Station in Istanbul, Kerim Bey,
took Bond to a gypsy camp, where the two girls Vida and Zora were to
fight to the death over a man. Zora was played by Martine Beswick, who
would return 3 years later to play another Bond girl in Thunderball.
Vida and Zora engaged in an intense cat fight, scratching, fighting
and
trying to strangle each other. The fight was broken up when an assassin
attacked the camp to try and kill Kerim Bey. Bond saved the life of the
camp's leader in the process, who in turn honoured Bond's request to end
the fighting. Happy to have their leader alive, Vida and Zora warmed to
Bond, who got to entertain them for the evening.
The evocatively named Pussy Galore was an original Ian Fleming character from the novel. Ms. Galore ran a flying circus of female pilots, who were hired by Auric Goldfinger to fly over Fort Knox and gas the soldiers, so that Goldfinger could break in to the gold vault.
Jill Masterson
was the scantly dressed girl who used binoculars and an ear piece to
help Auric Goldfinger cheat at cards. Bond caught her at the game, and
together they blackmailed Goldfinger into losing his money. After
enjoying a few bottles of Dom Perignon with Bond, Masterson was killed
by Goldfinger's henchman Oddjob, in revenge for her betrayal. Bond awoke to find her covered from head to toe in gold paint.
Tilly Masterson tried to assassinate Auric Goldfinger in revenge for
the death of her sister Jill. With her poor marksmanship, she missed and
almost shot Bond, who took a sharp interest in her. Bond caught up with
Tilly again and foiled another of her attempts to kill Goldfinger. In
the process, the two were chased by Goldfinger's hitmen, and Tilly was
killed by Oddjob's steel rimmed hat.
In the exciting pre-title sequence of Goldfinger, Bond foils the
plots of a heroin baron and blows up his operations with plastic
explosives. Before leaving, Bond takes care of some unfinished business,
to have a bath with Bonita. The excursion turns out to be a trap, as
Bonita seduces Bond so that a henchman can knock him unconscious. Bond
sees the reflection in Bonita's eyes, and she gets knocked on the head
while the henchman is electrocuted in the bath. "Shocking. Positively
shocking" Bond remarks before leaving the room.
Margaret Nolan played the Golden Girl in the title sequence and the pre-release advertising for Goldfinger.
However, the producers eventually choose Shirley Eaton to play Jill
Masterson, and Nolan was given the
much smaller role of the pool-side masseuse Dink. Dink is shown
massaging Bond, but has to leave when Felix Leiter arrives for some
"man's talk."
Domino Derval was the mistress of SPECTRE agent Emilio Largo.
Bond discovers that Largo had killed Domino's brother, and thinks he
can use that fact to get her on his side. They meet underwater as Bond
untraps Domino's flipper from the coral, and Bond manages to convince
her to plot against Largo.
Paula Caplan was Bond's liaison in Nassau. She was played by Martine Beswick, who had previously played Bond girl Zora in From Russia With Love.
Paula helped Bond to make contact with Domino Derval, but met her end
after being captured by SPECTRE agents, taking a cyanide pill to avoid
torture.
Fiona Volpe
was the archtypical Bond henchwoman, with the task of seducing men into
traps. She was feisty and more competent than many of the henchmen in
the Bond films. She met her end while dancing with Bond; a henchman
tried to shoot Bond in the back, but he quickly spun round and the
bullet killed Fiona instead.
Patricia Fearing
was a nurse working at the Shrublands health clinic, where Bond had
been sent to detoxify from too many martinis. After nearly being killed
by SPECTRE agent Count Lippe, Bond won the sympathy of Patricia, and the two spent the night with a steam room and a mink glove.
Mlle. La Porte was Bond's French liaison during his attendance of
SPECTRE agent Jacques Bouvar's funeral. She informs Bond that Bouvar
passed away in his sleep, and as the two leave the funeral she ends with
"Is there anything else our French station can do for Monsieur Bond?",
to which Bond replies, "Later, perhaps."
Kissy Suzuki was a ninja working for the head of the Japanese secret
service, Tiger Tanaka. She had a mock wedding with James Bond, who
underwent surgery to disguise himself as a Japanese fisherman, so that
the pair could explore a quiet village without being noticed.
Aki was a senior agent of the Japanese secret service, working
directly under its leader Tiger Tanaka. She was confident and
independent, and tricked Bond into walking over a trap door, which
catapulted him down a steel slide leading to Tanaka's office. She drove a
Toyota 2000GT
and saved Bond's life on many occasions. Mid way though the film, an
assassin tried to poison Bond, but Aki was poisoned by mistake.
In the opening scenes of the film, Bond is shown in bed with Ling, as
the two discuss why Chinese girls taste different from all other girls.
Ling gets up and presses a button that rockets the bed upwards into the
wall, and two gunmen enter the room to kill Bond. It is later revealed
to the audience that Ling was helping to stage Bond's death in order to
keep his enemies off his back.
Helga Brandt was a SPECTRE henchwoman who pretended to fall in love
with Bond and switch to his side, only to try and kill him the next
morning. For failing to kill Bond, Brandt is killed by head of SPECTRE
Blofeld, who drops her into a pool of piranha fish. Helga Brandt was
very similar to prior Bond girl Fiona Volpe, as the producers tried to
replicate their prior success.
Contessa Teresa di Vicenzo was the most important girl in Bond's
life,
becoming Mrs Tracy Bond by the end of the film. Starting out troubled
and
suicidal, Tracy was rescued by Bond, who gradually fell in love with
her. At
their wedding, Bond vowed that they would have all the time in the world
together. In a tragic twist of irony, Tracy was assassinated by Ernst
Stavro Blofeld as the pair were stopped at a roadside to remove the
flowers from their car.
Ruby Bartlett was one of the "angels of death" at Blofeld's swiss
clinic. She had been brought there to cure a chicken allergy, but was in
fact being hypnotized by Blofeld as part of a plot to spread a crop
virus around the country. When she first met Bond, disguised as Sir
Hillary Bray, she discreetly wrote her room number in lipstick on his
thigh, so that he could meet her later that night.
After sneaking into Ruby Bartlett's room in the swiss clinic, Bond
had returned to his own room. He said to himself in the mirror, "Hilly,
you old devil", before noticing that another patient, Nancy, had snook
into his room. Being the only man in the clinic, Bond had attracted the
fancy of several of the girls.
Tiffany Case
was a diamond smuggler in part of a pipeline of smugglers that
ultimately ended at Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Courier Peter Franks was
supposed to pass the diamonds to Tiffany, but Bond intercepted and
impersonated Franks, and managed to take the diamonds for himself.
Bond's involvement saved Tiffany being murdered, and she eventually
switched to Bond's allegiance.
Plenty O'Toole was a gold digger from Las Vegas. She helped a man
gamble at the craps table, but when he lost all of his money, she lost
interest. She turned to leave, but went back after hearing James Bond
ask for $10,000 in chips. She helped Bond play craps, and after winning
$50,000, she went back to Bond's suite. Bond girl Tiffany Case was
waiting there for Bond, and some mobsters threw Plenty out of the window
into the pool below.
Bambi and Thumper were the two gymnastic bodyguards holding Willard
Whyte prisoner in his Las Vegas villa. When Bond enters to rescue Whyte,
he meets Bambi and Thumper, who introduce themselves, and then take it
in turns to attack Bond, somewhat playfully.
Thumper and Bambi attack Bond, kicking him and using their martial
art skills to overcome him. Bond was at a loss, the two girls too nimble
for him. However, Thumper and Bambi then throw Bond into a pool, and
they lose their advantage, Bond managing to push their heads underwater
until they give in and reveal where Willard Whyte is being kept.
As Bond seeks out Blofeld to get revenge for the death of his wife,
the trail leads him from Tokyo to Cairo, where he interrogates a gambler
about Blofeld's whereabouts. "Marie... ask.. Marie." Bond finds Marie,
who asks "Is there something I can do for you?" Bond replies with
"There's something I'd like you to get off your chest", and then removes
her Bra and begins to strangle her with it.He gets the information he
wants and pursues the lead.
Solitaire was a psychic tarot card reader working for heroin baron
Dr. Kananga. She predicted the movements of James Bond and other men who
posed a threat to their operations. Solitaire was practically
imprisoned by Kananga as he knew that, like her mother, she would lose
her psychic gift if she were to make love. When first meeting Bond,
Solitaire drew the lovers card, predicting the fate of her and Bond.
Indeed, Solitaire soon lost her powers, and became a target of Kananga's
wrath.
Rosie Carver was an inept and incompetent double agent, working for
the CIA and for heroin baron Dr. Kananga. She checked into Bond's hotel
room as Mrs. Bond, and said she would take him to the spot where Bains,
another MI6 agent, was killed. While picnicking near the area, Bond
confronts Rosie, revealing that he knows she is working for Kanaga. Bond
threatens to kill her, and Rosie runs away, only to be killed by a
hidden gun in one of Kanaga's scarecrows.
Miss Caruso was an agent of the Italian Secret Service. She was
asleep with Bond at his home when, just before 6am, the doorbell rang.
Bond answered the door to find M, who announced an urgent mission. He

missing agent, Miss Caruso. In a scene lit with humour, Bond continually
distracts M to avoid him finding Caruso, with a little help from Miss
Moneypenny, who had accompanied M.
Mary Goodnight was Bond's assistant in Hong Kong, and previously his
secretary in London. She helps Bond to locate Miss Anders, the
girlfriend of hitman Scaramanga. The two almost spend the night together
on multiple occasions, and at one point Goodnight is embarrassingly
shoved into a cupboard when Miss Anders pays Bond a surprise visit.
Goodnight is eventually kidnapped by Scaramanga, but after Bond kills
him, Goodnight helps Bond escape his Island.
Miss Anders was the girlfriend of Francisco Scaramanga, the $1
million a shot assassin, the man with the golden gun. She sent a golden
bullet to MI6 with 007 engraved on the side, so that it would be thought
that Scaramanga had Bond on his hit list. Miss Anders was hoping that
Bond would respond to the threat and kill Scaramanga, freeing her from
his possession. However, Scaramanga learnt of her betrayal and shot her
through the heart.
Saida was a Lebanese belly dancer, and the ex-lover of agent 002,

casually steal the bullet, but after getting hit on the back by the club
bouncer, he swallows it by mistake.

took a liking to Bond, and when she saw Sandor about to shoot him, she
spun round and took the bullet herself.
Holly Goodhead was a CIA agent working undercover as an astronaut for
the Hugo Drax organization. After spending the night together with

human race on Earth.

well. They went for a walk on the beach the next morning, and Lisl was
tragically killed by henchman Locque.

report in an hour, until Linda held up a glass of champagne, then he
changed his mind to 2 hours.

came to an abrupt stop, and seduced Caroline with a bottle of Bollinger
champagne hidden in an armrest. The two proceed with a "very thorough
evaluation."
Wai Lin was a Red Chinese agent, and had the same mission as Bond to
investigate media magnate Elliot Carver. Carver had been suspected of

explosion so that her inherited oil pipeline would have a monopoly.
Molly Warmflash was the chief medical officer at MI6. Bond had to
visit her to be cleared for duty after an explosion dislocated his
collar bone. Although not technically fit, Bond seduced Molly, who
agreed to clear him so long as he called her this time. Moneypenny read
off the report, which mentioned that Bond had "exceptional stamina."

casino and travelled with Sévérine to Silva's private Island. The pair
were caught, and for her betrayal, Silva placed a glass of Scotch on
Sévérine's head and asked Bond to shoot it off. Bond purposefully
missed, but Silva shot her in the head anyway, killing her and knocking
off the Scotch. Bond coldly commented that it was a waste of good
Scotch.
Tonia Sotiropoulou was credited only as "Bond's lover", and appeared
in a brief scene with no lines or conversation with Bond. They made
love, and were then shown laying on a bed, Bond drinking a beer. She is
the only girl on this list that didn't have a speaking role, and is
perhaps the least memorable of all Bond girls.
